Dr. Maltz goes onto to say: "you cannot long escape or outperform that picture." Not ever.
If you're not familiar with The NEW Pyscho-Cybernetics you need to be. Don't let the name "trick" you. The Psycho part simply means "psychology." No "psychos" in the book, don’t worry. The term Cybernetics is Greek for "the steersman" as in "steering" the mind towards a goal or target.
Psycho-Cybernetics has been around since the late 60's, became extremely popular in the 70's and 80's and has now been revised for the 21st century.
In 1967, newspapers reported that the great Vince Lombardi, NFL Hall of Fame football coach of the Green Bay Packers during their dominating dynasty era implemented the teachings of Psycho-Cybernetics. Players use to carry their books around with them as if it were their football playbooks. Fascinating, and worth pointing out since this was one of the greatest NFL franchises of all time.

"Imagination" is actually the "Fifth Step" to riches in Think And Grow Rich. Naploeon Hill calls Imagination "the workshop of the mind."
The New Psycho-Cybernetics and Think and Grow Rich may be the two best selling Personal Development books (that relate to actually accomplishing things) of ALL TIME.
I reference these two books because they are the only two books I've ever read (since college) with a highlighter and a notebook at my side. I suggest you do the same...
